Festival Fridays is working on an exciting schedule for the month of July. On Friday, July 5, the Adam Loudin Trio will perform. This is a local jazz group whose leader, Adam Loudin, hails from Buckhannon and is a music teacher in Lewis County. They perform regularly at the Pink Moon Coffeehouse in Weston and play classic jazz. Entertainment will be provided by Gene Thorn, doing a first-person account of Major John McCulloch (Revolutionary War - Fort Henry Wheeling), the brother of Major Samuel McCulloch, who leaped his horse off a cliff with the Indians and renegades after him in 1777 near Wheeling; the place is known as McCulloch's Leap.
On July 12, Good Vittles & Company - a four to five-person group that performs music from a variety of music styles, known as Americana - will perform. Entertainment that night will be an excerpt from "Into the Woods" by Buckhannon Community Theatre.
On July 19, watchers will be treated to an Irish music jam session from the Emerald Hills Ceilidh Band, with dancers from the Dance Factory of Buckhannon providing entertainment.
On July 26, is the Weekend Block Party, sponsored by the Classic Wheels Car Club. This event will take up the entire weekend in Buckhannon. A DJ will provide music at the park from 5 to 7 p.m., while people enjoy the sights and sounds of antique autos, and at 7 p.m. the Rock-Olas will take the stage, doing 1950s, 60s and 70s rock and country.
