Jean McCray Osretkar, 80, formerly of Davis, died July 5, 2013, at her home in Frederick, Md.
She was born Oct. 7, 1932, in William, a daughter of the late Buri and Nellie Burtis Long McCray.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Osretkar, whom she married July 25, 1953.
Also surviving are two daughters, Melanie (Mark) Palumbo, Bowie, Md., and Melinda Osretkar and companion, Robert Fitz, Brunswick, Md.; one brother, Thomas (Alice) Raymond, Bedford Heights, Ohio; two sisters, Geraldine Ruckel, Cross Lanes, and Patty (Phillip) Nyberg, West Millbury, Mass.; and three grandchildren, Anthony Grayson, Aleyna Fitz and Gabriel Fitz.
Following her graduation from Thomas High School, Jean began her career working in the identification section of the FBI in Washington, D.C., where she worked for 20 years. She left the FBI to devote herself to raising her two children. In 1976, Jean began work at the Special Agents Mutual Benefits Association. She retired from SAMBA in 1996 as the supervisor of the Life Insurance Division.
After her retirement from SAMBA, Jean volunteered for over a decade with Meals on Wheels. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling extensively, visiting over 70 countries on six continents.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, at Davis United Methodist Church with Rev. Neil Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery.
