A Crawford man remains lodged in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of a $65,500 bond after being arrested Sunday for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident in Buckhannon.
According to the complaint filed in Upshur County Magistrate Court, Cody Lee Burr, 21, of 2211 Bablin Ingo Road, is facing a felony charge of fleeing from an officer in a vehicle, along with misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and no operator's license.
The complaint stated Burr was attempting to flee from a Buckhannon police officer Sunday and allegedly went through a red light, striking another vehicle at the intersection of Main and Kanawha streets and forcing it into a power pole.
The driver of the vehicle, Eileen Dean, was reportedly injured in the collision and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, the complaint stated.
Her condition was not available at presstime.
The complaint said Burr did not stop to render aid and continued to flee from police. He exited the vehicle on Main Street and attempted to flee on foot before being arrested, the complaint stated.
