Sandra Kay Nutter Edman, 66, a resident of Elkins, departed this life Wednesday morning, July 10, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family. She had been in declining health for the past eight months.
She was born Sunday, May 26, 1947, at Parsons, a daughter of the late Freeman David and Mildred Melissa Poling Nutter.
Surviving are her life partner, Eugene R. Liby of Elkins; one son, Charlie David "Chuck" Nutter of Elkins; and two sisters, Sue Roberts and husband, Ed, of Talbott Road community and Linda Nutter of Elkins; and a special friend, David Plaugher.
Preceding her in death was one infant brother.
She attended Elkins High School, had worked as a nurse's aide at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center and was a housekeeper for many years for families in the Elkins area. She was a member of Belington Presbyterian Church, was a loving mother, excellent housekeeper and did not know a stranger.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday, July 14, Mrs. Edman will be moved to Belington Presbyterian Church where friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. The casket will remain closed at the church. On Sunday, at 2 p.m., a funeral service will be conducted at the church with the Rev. JoAnne Glaser officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
