Elkins All-Stars to face Huntington SE today

Rain postponed Babe Ruth 14-year-old state tournament action Friday night at Frank Loria Field in Nutter Fort.

Elkins was scheduled to face Huntington Southeastern at 7 p.m. That game will now be played at 1 p.m. today.

The winner of that contest will face Beckley at 6:30 p.m. today in a winner's bracket contest, while the loser will play again on Sunday in an elimination game.

Elkins and Harrison County, meanwhile will meet at 3:30 p.m. today in Babe Ruth 13-year-old state tournament action at Frank Loria Field.

The 14-year-old championship game is scheduled for Sunday, following the loser's bracket finale.

The winner advances to the Ohio Valley?Regional Tournament, which takes place July 24-28 in Jasper, Indiana.

Elkins is hoping to add another state title during the Babe Ruth postseason.

The 15-year-olds captured the crown on Wednesday night with an 8-0 victory over Huntington Southeastern at Robin Harvey Memorial Field to advance to the Ohio Valley Regional in Zanesville, Ohio.
