Californian sends a warning for W.Va.

Editor:

I am a former Elkins resident, and a graduate of Elkins High School and Davis & Elkins College. Although I have lived in California for many years I still feel connected to your beautiful Mountain State.

If you are wise you won't allow the left wing radicals to turn it into the nightmare California has become. While illegal immigrants continue to flood in to take away jobs and grab welfare benefits, government over-regulation and high taxation has led many companies to relocate in states such as Texas, causing a high unemployment rate.

Don't let this happen to your state. Barack Obama and his environmental Nazis have declared war on the coal industry and this saddens me deeply since my late father, Ralph L. McDonald, former vice president of Mower Lumber Company, worked so hard to help build the coal industry in West Virginia in the 1970s and 1980s.

Unfortunately, the environmentalists have moved into extremism since then, threatening to destroy the coal and oil industries in America while wasting taxpayer money on failed solar energy companies.
