Elkins Post 29 won both games of a doubleheader in American Legion baseball action Sunday.
In the first game, Elkins topped Potomac Valley Post 64/78 by a score of 10 to 3.
Winning pitcher Issac Riggleman gave up 6 hits, 3 runs and a walk while striking out one over 4 innings. Riggleman is now 1-3 on the season.
The top hitters for Elkins were Colby Gainer and Chance Price, who each went 2 for 4 with 1 RBI.
The losing pitcher was Brandon George. Ryan Colaw went 2 for 4 with a home run for Potomac Valley.
In the second game, Elkins pounded Potomac Valley 12-2.
The winning pitcher was Brandon Hamons, now 6-5 on the season. He gave up 7 hits and 2 runs, 1 earned, with 4 strikeouts and no walks in 5 innings pitched.
The leading hitters for Post 29 included Colby Gainer, who went 4 for 4 with 1 RBI, Al Johnson, who went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's, Doug Smith, who went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's, and Cody Gainer, who went 1 for 3 with a home run.
The losing pitcher for Potomac Valley was Keaton Funk.
Elkins Post 29 ends their regular season with a record of 23-19 overall. They will return to action at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Area 5 Postseason Tournament at Robin Harvey Memorial Field in Elkins.
They will play the winner of Wednesday night's game between Preston County Post 56 and Buckhannon Post 7.
