Marsha Jean Phillips Bishoff, 59, a resident of the Horseshoe Run Community, Parsons, departed this life early Monday morning, July 22, 2013, at her home. Death was unexpected and attributed to cardiac arrest.

She was born Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1953, at Parsons, a daughter of the late Marvin Kenneth and Minnie Marie Hile Phillips.

On May 29, 1981, at Parsons, she was married to Roger Lee Bishoff, who survives. They had celebrated 32 years of marriage.

Also surviving are one daughter, Alicia Dawn Bishoff of Horseshoe Run Road, St. George; one brother, Terry Lynn Hile and wife, Judy, of Horseshoe Run Road, St. George; two sisters, Rhonda Lou Sherman of Ravenna, Ohio, and Dawnelle Phillips Shehan and husband,Thomas, of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was one infant son, Justin Allen Bishoff.

She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1971, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the Impact Team. She attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University at Mt. Vernon, Ohio. She was a former employee of St. George Clinic and Cortland Acres for many years. She was a receptionist and worked in medical records at the Appalachian Community Health Center for the past 10 years. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. She served in the ministry, and at the time of her death, was serving the following churches, Etam United Methodist Church, Flag United Methodist Church, Mt. Sarah United Methodist Church and Green Valley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, was an avid reader, loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her animals, especially cats.

The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Thursday, July 25, at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Neil Parsons will officiate, and interment will follow in Bonnifield Cemetery at Horseshoe Run Road, St. George.
