July 24, 2013
By Chad Clem - Staff Writer , The Inter-Mountain

A one-vehicle accident Tuesday morning claimed the life of an area woman, although her 11-month-old passenger survived.

The Franklin Detachment of the West Virginia State Police was called to investigate the crash, on U.S. 33, between Riverton and Macksville, near Seneca Rocks, according to a press release from the State Police.

A Ford F150, driven by Dana Nicole Davis, exited the north roadway edge and rolled over an embankment. Davis succumbed to her injuries, while the 11-month-old child survived the crash. The infant did sustain injuries, though, according to the State Police.

Sergeant A.D. Teter, of the West Virginia State Police, was the investigating officer and was assisted by Seneca Rocks Volunteer Fire Department, Circleville Volunteer Fire Department, North Fork and Franklin Rescue Squads and Pendleton County Tactical Skill Team.

The accident is still under investigation.
