A local woman was robbed by two juveniles who approached her Tuesday night across from the Central Towers apartments, police said.
The two male juveniles were apprehended sometime after dark Tuesday by the Elkins City Police and accused of performing a strong arm robbery, officials said.
A strong arm robbery involves "a subject forcibly taking something from somebody's person," Lt. S.D. Richards of the Elkins City Police said.
The alleged victim, Genece Pancake, was reportedly walking out of the building and across the street when she was approached by the suspects.
After they were apprehended, the suspects were taken to a juvenile detention facility and were later arraigned in Randolph County Circuit Court Wednesday morning. Because they are juveniles, no names for the suspects can be released, nor has the location of the juvenile facility been released.
The Elkins City Police are still investigating the incident. The Elkins detachment of the West Virginia State Police also assisted in apprehending the suspects.
Law enforcement authorities want to make sure citizens are cautious of incidents like this. Keep all valuable belongings, such as cell phones, electronic devices and wallets, concealed at all times.
