The program meets legislative requirements of SB 437, which requires all registered nurses who administer or prescribe controlled substances to complete three hours of continuing education on prescribing and preventing drug diversion by Oct. 31, 2013.

Two sessions will be Aug. 29; the first will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., and the second will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sessions are scheduled again on Sept. 4; the first will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., and the second will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Participants need only attend one of the three-hour sessions.
All sessions will take place in the Davis Memorial Hospital Cafeteria overflow room on the ground floor of the hospital.
Space is limited, and a reservation is required. Those interested should forward a $15 check made payable to Ann Bostic to the DMH Education Department at 900 Main St., Elkins.
