One man was injured when a car collided with a garbage truck in the Montrose area Tuesday evening, police said.
A Tygarts Valley Sanitation truck was pulling out of a driveway on Hartman Lane at about 5 p.m., after collecting trash at the location, when it was struck head-on by a Dodge Neon, Randolph County Sheriff Mark Brady said Wednesday.
The Neon was driven by Cody Vandevender, 19, of Montrose, who was taken to Davis Memorial Hospital by the Randolph County EMS. Two passengers in the car, one a year-old infant, were not transported, Brady said.
The truck was driven by Donald Gooden, 43, of Elkins, and a 17-year-old male worker was a passenger in the truck, Brady said.
No citations have yet been issued, but the incident is still under investigation by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Brady said, adding that no estimates of damage to the vehicles was available.
