Mr. and Mrs. Alan Krueger will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday.
They were married Aug. 17, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, by the Rev. Oliver Cowles. Alan and Ann met while students at Michigan State University. The couple then resided in Buffalo, N.Y., until Oct. 31, 1972, when they moved to Belington to raise their family.
Mr. and Mrs. Krueger began farming and later Mr. Krueger accepted employment with the Barbour County Board of Education as a school bus driver, while Mrs. Krueger taught school in Barbour County, first as an art teacher and later as a special education teacher.
After a number of years, Mr. Krueger accepted employment with the Randolph County Housing Authority, leaving their farm in Barbour County and moving to Elkins where they now reside and are enjoying retirement in Beverly.
Their children - Joseph Krueger and Rachel Blackburn, along with her husband, Kenny Blackburn - reside in Elkins. Clayton Krueger resides in Morgantown. Their grandson, Noah, lives in Elkins with his mother and their granddaughter, Maya, lives with her parents in Morgantown.
