Evelyn F. Cunningham, 93, of Century, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Mansfield Place in the Broaddus Hospital Healthcare Complex in Philippi, where she had been a resident for the past year.
Born in Buckhannon on June 4, 1920, to the late Lee Brown and Kathryn (Finley) Brown, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; sons Ronnie and Robert; grandson, Robert Jr.; and five sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Linda) Greensboro, N.C., and Larry (Rebecca) of Century; five grandchildren, Jerry of Pennsboro, Rick (Cindy) of Fairmont, Steve of Richmond, Va., Matthew (Kelly), of Oxford, Conn., and Tricia (John) Gladstone of Greensboro, N.C.; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a faithful member of the Century Community Church and lifelong homemaker.
Friends and family will be received at Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. and from Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., the service hour with Rev. Mildred Endrizzi and Rev. Earl Cayton officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
