The Elkins Otters swim team completed the season with a strong performance at the recent Stealey Invitational.
The Otters finished second in the boys' race and fourth in the girls' event. Overall, the team placed third.
The Otters' Isaac Anger earned high-point total for the meet in the 6-and-under category, breaking two meet records in the process - the 50-meter freestyle (47.07) and the 25 breaststroke (28.18).
Tiffany Young (6-U), Brendan Wallace (13-14) and Lauren Cain (15-18) all finished as high-point runner-ups.
Other first-place finishers for the Otters included the girls' 15-18-year-old 200 freestyle relay team (Tayler Lee, Katy Mattingly, Hannah Toney and Lauren Cain), the boys' 15-18-year-old 200 freestyle relay team (Daniel Toney, Brendan Cain, Brian Cox, Tyler Kenney), the girls' 15-18-year-old 200 medley relay team (Hannah Toney, Tayler Lee, Lauren Cain, Katy Mattingly), Isaac Anger (6-U, 25 freestyle), Anna Downs (8-U, 50 breaststroke, 25 breaststroke), Brendan Wallace (13-14, 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke), Lauren Cain (15-18, 50 breaststroke, 50 backstroke, 100 freestyle), Tayler Lee (15-18, 50 freestyle), Andrew Shiflett (7-8, 25 breaststroke), Izaak Whetsell (8-U, 50 backstroke) and Micah Toney (13-14, 50 butterfly).
"I'm very happy with the outcome of the Stealey Invitational," Elkins Otters coach Cassie Wallace said. "It was a wonderful way to finish out the year and a great job by each Otter - I'm very proud of them all."
