Elkins coach Scott Cutright attributed the win to ball control.
"The girls settled down and started to win the ball in the second half," Cutright said. "We had another great effort from our goalkeeper Charlie George. She's doing a great job and has been real consistent in the net."
Freshman Bailey Heubi was in goal for the Colts and made several key stops in the first half to keep the deficit at just 1-0 at the intermission.
Philip Barbour (2-2, 0-1) will return to action at noon Saturday at Berkeley Springs, while Elkins will entertain Greenbrier East at 2 p.m. on the same day.
