Mountain Lions roll past Bulldogs, 49-0

PARSONS - Quarterback Seth Underwood rushed 141 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Tucker County to a 49-0 win over Tygarts Valley Friday night in PVC play.

The Bulldogs kept it close early, allowing just six points to the home team with 5:00 remaining in the second quarter. But from there, the Mountain Lions showed their physical dominance.

Underwood also was 3 for 5 passing for an additional 35 yards.

Zach Armstrong rushed eight times for 75 yards and two touchdowns for the hosts, and reserve quarterback Daniel Kisamore had six carries for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Tucker County had 292 yards of total offense with 252 of that on the ground in the contest. Tygarts Valley was held to 62 yards total.

Tygarts Valley will travel to South Harrison next Friday, while Tucker County will host Northern (Md.) on the same evening.

Pendleton 22

Petersburg 13

FRANKLIN - Pendleton County used a strong second quarter to overcome an early deficit and claim a 22-13 win over Petersburg on Friday night.

The Wildcats (2-0) trailed 13-0 after the first quarter before scoring 22 unanswered points in the second quarter. Luke Yokum had scoring strikes of 25 to Dyllan Wimer and 37 yards to Matthew Dove in the canto. Yokum also scored on a 12-yard touchdown run.

Yokum was 10 of 18 passing for 117 yards on the night, while rushing for an additional 191 yards on 23 totes. Wimer had four receptions for 41 yards.

Travis Alt led the Pendleton County defense with 14 tackles. Dylan Dunkle added 12 tackles and interception, Timothy Hevener eight tackles and a fumble recovery, Preston Evick 10 tackles and Lane Fleisher nine tackles and two sacks.

Trevor Harman and Alex See had rushing touchdowns for the Vikings, who dropped to 0-2.

Pendleton County will travel to Pocahontas County next Friday, while Petersburg will entertain Berkeley Springs on the same evening.
