Two teams in search of their first win of the season will battle when Elkins pays a visit to Preston for a Big 10 Conference contest.
While the Tigers (0-3, 0-1 Big 10) were dropping a 42-20 decision at home to rival Buckhannon-Upshur last week, the Knight were defeated by Class AA, top-ranked Fairmont Senior, 55-12.
Elkins coach Greg Hott is optimistic is team can get things back on track as it hopes to remain in the running for a third straight playoff appearance.
"We're finally starting to get healthy," Hott said. "We expect to get some kids back for Preston that have been out or slowed by injuries."
Senior Dylan Lucas has been a bright spot on offense the past two games for the Tigers and leads the team in rushing with 263 yards and two scores. Quarterback Ben Lonergan has added 225 on the ground and Mo Kelly 168.
John Huffman and Isaac Riggleman have both collected 17 tackles on defense.
"We had some defensive breakdowns last week that hurt us," Hott said. "But the attitude of the players has been good in practice and they're determined to come out and get a win."
The Knights (0-3, 0-2) will counter with quarterback Scott Stone, who has passed for 308 yards.
