TENNERTON - Buckhannon-Upshur continued its winning ways with a 7-0 victory over Grafton Saturday in Big 10 Conference play.
The Bucs improved to 9-1 overall and 6-0 in league play.
Marty Elliott had a hat trick and assisted on another goal to lead B-U, which led 4-0 at intermission.
Dylan Hall and Trey Short each added two goals for the winners.
B-U held a 22-1 edge on shots on goal and 6-2 advantage on corner kicks. Cam Blake had one save in net for the Bucs, while Trace Schooley stopped 15 shots for the Bearcats.
B-U coach Mike Donato said injuries forced him to adjust the lineup.
"We called out the team and told them that even though we had to make a lot of adjustments, we couldn't slow down the pace or afford to give up the ball to a fast Grafton team," Donato said. "The whole team stepped up to the challenge and played one of the better overall games we've seen this season."
The Bucs will return to action at 8 p.m. Tuesday at home against East Fairmont for a league game.
