‘Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done’ in Christ

The late Jimi Hendrix, performed the secular song, "All Along The Watchtower."

In the Bible, the word 'watchtower' is mentioned only twice in Isaiah 21:5 and 21:8, concerning the defeat of Babylon by Elam and Media.

In the canon of scripture, the Holy Bible mentions the word 'watchman' 17 times; 'watchmen' 12 times, and the word 'watch' at least 60 times.

Jesus reminds us in Mark 13:33-37 KJV; "Take heed, watch and pray, for ye know not when the time is. For the son of man (Jesus Christ), is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house (church), and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

"And what I say unto you I say unto all, 'Watch.' Awake unto righteousness."

Isaiah 9:6-7; "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, the Mighty God, The Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.

"Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of host will perform this.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they which are persecuted for rightousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Jesus tells us in Matthew's Gospel, chapter 24:14; "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."

Jesus teaches his disciples the Lord's prayer which includes those important words: "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."

Jesus later tells Pilate, "My kingdom is not of this world."

Matthew 11:12; "The kingdom of heaven suffereth violence."

Luke 16:16; "and every man presseth into it" (spiritually speaking).

Matthew 3:2; "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is a hand."

Luke 17:20-21 reveals: "And when he (Christ) was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation, (or not visible to the natural eye). Neither shall they say, Lo here: or there: for behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

Nicodemus visits Christ by night in John chapter 3. "Jesus answered and said unto him, 'Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'"

Nicodemus saith unto him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"

Jesus answered, "Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

Being born again by the Spirit, means Christ has come to dwell in your heart by faith through His shed blood at Mount Calvary. We repent, receive his forgiveness, love, grace, and mercy by faith, and are born again into His kingdom!

A Christian believer should then be water baptized, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues!

Daniel 2:4 prophecies, "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break into pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever."

Daniel 7:13-14: "I saw in the night visions, and behold, one like the Son of Man (Jesus Christ, the living son of Jehovah God); came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

"And there was given, him dominion, and glory and a kingdom that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his 'kingdom' that which shall not be destroyed."

Jesus likens the kingdom of heaven in many parables including the mustard seed and the 10 virgins.

Paul writes in 1st Corinthians 6:9-10: "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, or covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Revelation 11:15; "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever."

There will be a millennial kingdom on this present earth for a thousand years; and a raptured, eternal glorious, visible Church.

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." (Revelation 20:6).

Verses 1-3 tell of the dragon, old serpent or Satan's incarceration with a great chain in a bottomless pit during the thousand year millennial Kingdom on this present Earth.

In verses 7-10, we read of Satan's temporal release, and eternal demise as mentioned in verse 10: "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

Revelation 20: verses 11-15 speak of the Great White Throne Judgment of those outside of Christ's redemption being judged; and then cast into the "eternal" lake of fire. "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." (verse 15).

And, as Satan, they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Can a celestial soul and body burn forever without being annihilated? Yes, God's Holy Word speaks that "God is a consuming and unquenchable fire."

Remember the bush and Moses in Exodus 3:2-3? It was burning, but not consumed; or Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, humanly unconsumed in the fiery furnace of Daniel chapter 3?

Verse 11: "And I saw a great white throne, and him (Christ) that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away, and there was found no place for them." Here, Earth and Heaven are vanished by fire.

This current global earth will be destroyed by fire.

Malachi 4:1; "For behold the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven, and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root or branch."

Second Peter chapter 3:10-13; "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night: in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burnt up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in 'all' holy conversation and godliness.

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."

Revelation 21:1; "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea."

False teachers abound. Titus 1:10-11 mentions: "For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcison: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not for filthy lucre's (money) sake."

"For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever, Amen."
