Wesleyan, Cards battle to 1-1 draw

BUCKHANNON - Wesleyan and Wheeling Jesuit battled to a 1-1 double-overtime deadlock on Wednesday night in Mountain East Conference play.

Rodrigo Bevaqua tallied a score for the Bobcats off a free kick from 25 yards out 5:23 into the match. The Cardinals tied the game at 39:06 on a goal by Tom Walsh with Luke Roan providing the assist.

Wesleyan (4-3-3, 2-1-2 MEC) will travel to Charleston at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

In the women's game, Kristi Dalton tallied the lone goal as Wesleyan blanked the Cardinals, 1-0.

Lauren Duncan had six saves in net for the Bobcats, who improved to 5-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in MEC action and will travel to Charleston at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
