Phillip Fetty has been appointed Davis & Elkins College sports information director. In this position, he is responsible for providing coverage of the college's 14 athletic teams.
"It is an honor to be the first full-time sports information director at Davis & Elkins," Fetty said. "I want to thank President Mihalyo, Kevin Wilson and Athletic Director Ronnie Palmer for the opportunity, and I am ready to move sports information forward at D&E."
Fetty most recently served as director of sports information and promotions at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, where he designed and implemented a new athletic website, coordinated local media contacts and interviews, and created press releases and game recaps, among other duties.
Prior to that, he was employed as assistant sports information director at Fairmont State University. He also has worked as a member of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament staff and as sports editor of Columns, Fairmont State University's student newspaper.
Fetty earned his Master of Science degree in sport management from West Virginia University in 2011 and a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management from Fairmont State University in 2010. He is a member of College Sports Information Directors of America.
A resident of Mt. Clare, Fetty is married to the former Tera McDougal.
