A shooting in Coalton resulted in one death Thursday morning, Randolph County Sheriff Mark Brady confirmed.
The victim, a male adult, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Brady. The shooter has not yet been identified and no arrests have been made according the the Randolph County Sheriff's Office. Deputies are interviewing witnesses and searching for suspects, Brady said.
"The public is not in danger," Brady said in an interview with The Inter-Mountain. "This is an isolated incident."
"This is a terrible loss for the family," he added.
The West Virginia State Police crime scene team and the Beverly Fire Department responded to assist the Randolph County Sheriff's Office on the call.
