Bulldogs to host Richwood tonight

Mountain Lions to travel to East Hardy; Bucs to welcome Hampshire

Tygarts Valley will look for its first of the season today when Richwood visits for Homecoming at Bulldog Field.

The Bulldogs (0-5) lost to Gilmer County last Thursday, 38-21. P.J. Lanham had 144 yards rushing and two scores for the Bulldogs, who trailed 14-13 at intermission. Derrick Villarico added eight receptions for 140 yards and Keighan Chewning three receptions for 76 yards and a score. Quarterback Owen Arbogast completed 13 of 21 passes for 243 yards.

Richwood (1-5) hasn't won since the first game of the season. The Lumberjacks lost last week to Van, 39-35.

Tucker County

at East Hardy

It will be a dogfight tonight in Baker when Tucker County (4-2) takes on East Hardy (5-0).

The Cougars are sixth and the Mountain Lions 14th in this week's SSAC?ratings.

Last week, East Hardy defeated Pendleton County, 40-23. Led by quarterback Cole Collier, the team hasn't lost a home game in three years.

Tucker lost to Southern Garrett (Md.) last week, 28-20, as a late rally fell short deep inside Rams territory. Quarterback Austin Zirk led the Mountain Lions with 252 yards rushing.

Hampshire at

Buckhannon-Upshur

Buckhannon-Upshur has lost two straight games and Coach Duane Stoeckle needs a victory tonight against Hampshire if the team hopes to remain in the playoff hunt.

Buckhannon (2-4) fell to Lewis County last week, 31-20. Seth Cutright scored two touchdowns and had 65 yards rushing on 11 attempts for B-U, while Dillon Gaudet added 85 yards passing, completing 8 of 13 attempts.

Hampshire (3-2) is also coming off a loss, falling to Keyser, 49-20.

Lewis County

at North Marion

Lewis County has won four straight games and coach Eddie Vincent will look to add another notch in the win column tonight when the team travels to North Marion.

The Minutemen are currently rated 11th in Class AAA.

Last Friday, Mark Metzgar rumbled for 127 yards and a score in Lewis County's victory over B-U.

North Marion (1-5) won its first game of the season last week, defeating East Fairmont, 25-22. The Huskies rushed for 344 total yards, and thwarted a late drive from East Fairmont with an interception by Drew Harker. Austin Stanley and Ryan Elliot led the huskies rushing attack with 193 yards and 112 yards, respectively.

Other games on the card for this evening include Pocahontas County at Greenbrier West, Southern Garrett at Petersburg and Moorefield at Fayetteville.
