PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - Davis & Elkins picked up its second conference win with a 3-0(26-24, 25-22, 25-19), victory over Ursuline on Saturday afternoon.

Alexis Mourier posted a team-best 10 kills. Alicia Stokes registered 21 assists, while Haylee Murray added 11. Kelsey Richards notched a game-high 14 digs.

D&E will travel to rival Alderson Broaddus at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Women's soccer

D&E 2, Ursuline 1, OT

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - D&E earned a hard fought 2-1 overtime victory over Ursuline on Saturday.

The Arrows' Cassie Cripe scored the lone first half goal to put Ursuline in front 1-0 at the break. Laia Margenat Dordas tied the game at 1-1 in the 71st minute. Kaitlyn Buoni netted the game-winner in the 94th minute of the first extra session.

Ursuline held a 15-12 advantage in shots, including placing 11 shots on goal to six for D&E.

Ashley Winkelspecht made 10 saves for the Senators.

Davis & Elkins will travel to Ashland at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Men's soccer

D&E 2, Cedarville 0

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Davis & Elkins claimed a 2-0 decision over Cedarville Saturday in a showdown of the G-MAC's top two teams.

James Pucci found the back of the net with a goal in the 28th minute to put D&E in front 1-0. Wyatt Hill added an insurance goal six minutes later to set the 2-0 margin.

Cameron Rivera posted five saves on the evening.

Although the Yellow Jackets held a slim 9-8 advantage in shots, both teams managed five shots on goal.

D&E will return to action at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at home against Alderson Broaddus.

Swimming

D&E opens season

MORGANTOWN - The Davis & Elkins swim teams opened the 2013-14 season at the West Virginia State Games, which concluded on Saturday.

The relay team of Chelsea Faris, Kendal Williams, Autumn Wunderlich and Brooke Bielecki earned a fifth-place finish in 800 freestyle (8:38.25), seventh (1:47.59) in the 200 freestyle, and eighth (3:59.78) in the 400 freestyle. Wunderlich, Faris, Bielicki and Kayla Huckaby took ninth in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:02.53.

Wunderlich swam to a second- place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:02.92) and 200 backstroke (2:20.23), fifth in the 1650 freestyle (18:55.52) and sixth place in the 400 IM (4:56.59).

The D&E women finished with 223.5 points to finish fifth of eight teams. WVU won the team title with 1,292 points.

The men's 200 freestyle relay team of Ty Montemoino, Luke Carpenter, Holden Easterbrook and Sam McDaniels posted a sixth-place finish (1:31.59). Montemoino, Easterbrook, McDaniels and Nick Hiatt notched sixth in the 400 medley relay (3:51.21). Montemoino, Easterbrook, McDaniels and Brandon Sellers notched a seventh place swim in the 200 medley relay (1:45.69). O'Connell, McDaniels, Austin Pillado and Xander Garcia notched a fifth place finish (7:41.58). Easterbrook, O'Connell, Carpenter and Colten Allen finished sixth in the 400 freestyle relay (3:26.74).

Individually, McDaniels registered a sixth place swim in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.66) and seventh in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.74). O'Connell took ninth in the 100 backstroke (59.16). Pillado earned a sixth place finish in the 1650 freestyle (17:43.46). Hiatt grabbed sixth in the 200 fly (2:12.21).

The men's team gathered 358.5 points to take third of eight teams. West Virginia took the team title with 1,666 points.

D&E will host Alderson Broaddus at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
