Wilbur Elwood "Bill" Armentrout, 66, a resident of Whitmer, departed this life early Friday morning, Oct. 11, 2013, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, surrounded by his family. Death was attributed to a massive heart attack.
He was born Sunday, Jan. 12, 1947, at Hancock, Md., a son of the late Baxter Elwood Armentrout and Dorothea Spriggs Armentrout, who survives at Job.
Also surviving are two sons, Rick Elwood Armentrout and wife, Ruthann, of Buckhannon and John Boyd Worth Armentrout and wife, Jill, of Clear Spring, Md.; one daughter, Janet Jacqueline Thompson and husband, Douglas, of Circleville; three grandchildren, Christopher, Katie and Madison; one brother-in-law, Dave White; one nephew, Randy White; and one niece, Tammy Berry, all of Baltimore, Md.
Preceding him in death was one sister, Gertrude White; and one grandson, Corey Armentrout.
Bill was a graduate of Harman High School with the class of 1966, was a devoted farmer and was a school bus driver for the Randolph County Board of Education for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Farm Bureau, the West Virginia Sheep Breeders Association and was a member of the Endowment Foundation for the NRA of which he was a life member.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Final Rites will be conducted from the funeral home, Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at 11:30 a.m.
The Rev. Earl Bible will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
