A Randolph County man was arrested this week after allegedly stealing pills from a residence, police said.

Tony Boyd Pennington, 18, of Whitmer, was charged with burglary after West Virginia State Police officials responded to a call from a woman who "discovered that her residence had been burglarized and that approximately three Xanax 5mg pills, and three Hydro/Apap 10-650 pills were stolen from the bottles which were stored in a drawer," the police report states.

Officers found that "entry to the residence had been gained by removing a window air conditioner from a window located on the porch area of the residence" and that "the perpetrator entered through the window, went into the kitchen... opened the drawer, and removed the pills," according to the police report. Officers believe the perpetrator exited through a door in the kitchen and put the air conditioner back in the window.

State Police officials, after examining for prints, found seven prints that were taken to the West Virginia State Police Forensic Laboratory for anaylsis and comparison to known prints. The examiner stated that three of the prints belonged to Pennington.

Pennington was arraigned by Chief Magistrate Ben Shepler and is free on a $35,000 cash or surety bond.
