Tygarts Valley will look for its initial win of the season tonight when Pocahontas County invades Bulldog Field for a 7:30 p.m. PVC contest.

The Bulldogs (0-6) are coming off a 48-19 loss to Richwood. Owen Arbogast had a pair of touchdown passes to Keighan Chewning in the setback.

The Warriors (2-5) lost a 42-7 decision at Class A, No. 8 Greenbrier West last week.

Moorefield at East Hardy

East Hardy will put its 6-0 record on the line tonight in Baker when county rival Moorefield comes to town.

The Cougars are ranked No. 7 and Moorefield is sixth in Class A.

Last Friday, East Hardy defeated Tucker County, 8-0, to keep its home winning streak alive at 22 games, which dates back to 2010. Senior quarterback Cole Collier is a key player for the Cougars.

Moorefield, meanwhile, defeated Fayetteville, 48-12. The Yellow Jackets' only loss of the season came in week two against Frankfort, 37-34. Moorefield has scored 248 points this season, while giving up 120 points. Defensive End Brandon Riggleman (5-11, 215) has demolished opposing offenses, while running backs Colton Bramsen and Wil Schoonover have racked up yardage.

Lewis County at Oak Hill

Lewis County will need to keep Oak Hill's high-powered offense in check if the Minutemen hope to bring home a victory this evening.

The Red Devils are ranked No. 8 and Lewis County is 12th in Class AAA.

The Minutemen (5-1) have won five straight, defeating North Marion, 34-7, last week. During the span, the team has racked up more than 300 yards rushing in each game. Running back Mark Metzgar is having an outstanding season, thanks to senior offensive linemen Tyler Gump (6-4, 280) and Jordan Hall (5-11, 255) paving the way.

Oak Hill (5-1) lost its first game of the season last week, 49-15, against Class AAA, No. 3 Point Pleasant. The Red Devils tied the score early in the second quarter on a 17-yard run by K.K. Goodman. However, Point Pleasant put up 42 unanswered points, including three touchdown runs from Chase Walton. Late in the game, Oak Hill quarterback Deonte Scruggs found Joey Re from six yards out for the final score.

Jalen Jones was held to 83 yards on 24 attempts. He has amassed 1,053 yards on 120 carries and 11 touchdowns this season, ranking him among the top 10 rushing leaders in the state.

Covington (Va.) at Pendleton County

The 2-4 Wildcats look to snap a four-game losing skid when Covington visits Franklin.

Pendleton County, led by quarterback Luke Yokum, was idle last week.
