Elkins High School players celebrate a goal during a game earlier this season. The Tigers will host Buckhannon-Upshur tonight in sectional action.
"We need to play more consistent for an entire game," Elkins girls coach Scott Cutright said. "When we played Buckhannon the first time (a 1-1 tie last Tuesday), we came out flat and didn't get many scoring chances.
"We have to match their intensity and realize that any loss from here on out, and your season is over."
In the other half of the girls' bracket, Lewis County will visit Hampshire, while the B-U boys will entertain the Trojans.
The Bucs are the top seed and enter the postseason with a sparkling 18-2 record after defeating University, 4-2, on Saturday.
In Class AA-A sectional play, the Philip Barbour girls will entertain Keyser at 5 p.m., while the PB boys will host Pendleton County at 7 p.m.
The Petersburg boys will travel to Berkeley Springs, while the Viking girls also will visit the Indians.
Sectional title games will be held on Wednesday at the sites of the highest remaining teams.
