Mike Cvechko was the recipient of the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce President's Award during the annual Chamber Banquet.
Making the presentation was outgoing Chamber President Jeff Rogers, CEO of BC Bank, who said, "I have had the pleasure of knowing Mike Cvechko for many years, since we spent our childhoods growing up together. We have remained close friends to this day."
Cvechko has accomplished many things in his outstanding professional, civic and volunteer life. He began his insurance career in 1996 with Westfield Insurance in Hurricane and in 2004 joined Allegheny Insurance in Elkins where he served as vice president of sales.

In 2008, he was named vice president of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of West Virginia board of directors. He recently obtained his credentials as a certified insurance counselor. Currently he is the founder of Cvechko's Insurance Services located in the Tygarts Valley Conservation Service Center in Philippi. Cvechko Insurance Services is a full-service insurance agency specializing in life, home, auto, and business insurance.
Cvechko is vice president of the Davis Health System Foundation, and a director and past president of the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce. He is president of the Barbour County Development Authority, where he was instrumental in creating Leadership Barbour County. He is the president of the board of directors of the Belington Clinic, board member for the Barbour County Community Foundation, and is a member of the Junior Lions Club. He completed the Leadership West Virginia Program in 2009.
Cvechko is president of the Barbour South Youth Soccer Association, coached teams in soccer and youth basketball and is a certified basketball official for the WVSSAC.
