Many folks around the Elkins area came home this week to find Scouting for Food bags attached to their door knobs. Local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts canvassed the area, hanging the bags in hopes of gathering much-needed cans of food and other non-perishable food items for area food pantries, soup kitchens and other events helping those less fortunate in our area.
On Saturday morning, local scouts will be out at about 9 a.m. to collect any donations. Simply fill the bags and place them on your porch in plain view and they will be collected.
If you are unable to set the bags out by the designated time, you may deliver your donations to the Good Shepherd at 105 First St. in Elkins or to Tyrand Cooperative Ministries on the back road in Mill Creek during normal business hours.
