Carl Junior Tanner

Carl Junior Tanner, 85, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. He was born Sept. 27, 1928, in Cadis, Ohio, a son of the late Edmond and Lula Plum Tanner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert M. and Raymond C. Tanner. He is survived by a friend, Rose Wilson of Buckhannon. Mr. Tanner was a coal miner and served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, from 10 a.m. to noon with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown, with military honors being conducted.
