Light refreshments will be served, and the addition will be formally dedicated at 4 p.m.
Mary Rayme, director, said, "It is so exciting to be able to expand our library. This community has spent about five years fundraising, and the addition is the result of that intense effort."
The Pioneer Memorial Public Library in Harman will host an open house on Dec. 5.
The addition adds a seating area, a second bathroom and a closed-door meeting space.
The seating area will contain exhibit space for local artists and history displays. Art by Harman school students will be featured at the open house.
The new meeting space is available to groups during the day, on weekends and in the evenings. Groups wishing to use the space can fill out an application and donate $25 to offset costs.
Rayme said, "We also received three new computers from WorkForce West Virginia. People can come in and use these computers to create resumes and find jobs."
She said the library also upgraded the memories on the other computers and purchased new flat-screen LCD monitors.
The library has six computers with high-speed Internet access.
