Howard Ronald Moss Sr., 82, a resident of McWhorter Ave. Philippi, passed away Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.

He was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Needmore, a son of the late Henry R. and Lummie (Haddix) Moss.

He was united in marriage June 7, 1954, to Martha Jean (Manning) Moss who survives at home. Also surviving are: two daughters, Deborah Foster, and husband, Scott, of Sarasota, Fla., and Jeanne Hussey and husband, Butch, of Nashville, Mich.; two sons; Ron Moss and wife, Jane, of Charlotte, Mich., Keith Moss and wife, Sandra, of Olivet, Mich.; three sisters; Dessie Johnson and husband, Dick, of Seabring, Fla., Christina Burgess of Canton, Ohio, Diana Reed and husband, Charlie, of Houghton Lake, Mich.; one brother; Jim Moss of Grand Blanc, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; Nick Moss, Chad Dallaire, Darwin, Dallaire, Mallory Crowner and husband, Mike, Brooke Jacobs and husband, Chad, Kati Moss, Cody Hussey and wife, Andrea, Lindsey Weeks and husband, Isaac, Robert Moss and wife, Ashlee, and Josh Moss; and seven great-grandchildren; Arianna Bailey, Makayla Dallaire, Jocelyn Jacobs, Cruz Hussey, Helaena Jacobs, Ivori Moss and Ryker Weeks.

Howard was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Moss, sister-in-laws, Peggy (Marsh) Moss and Jeanie (Upchurch) Moss.

He worked as a truck driver for Leaseway Transportation in Lansing, Mich., he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Howard was a lifetime member of the VFW Post No. 410, American Legion Post No. 44, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3552 and was a member of the Point Pleasant Baptist Church.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi, WV on Tuesday Dec. 3, from 2-8 p.m. and on Wednesday Dec. 4, from 8 a.m. to noon the service hour with Rev. Marvin Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in the W.Va. National Cemetery with military honours being accorded. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wrightfuneralhomeservices.com
