Eugene Killingsworth, 79, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 30, 2013, at the home of his daughter.
He was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Valley Bend, the son of Fred and Mimia Hammonds Killingsworth.
Eugene began working as a prison guard Aug. 6, 1973, for the Huttonsville Correctional Center and then transferred to Moundsville State Penitentiary retiring March 27, 1994.
Survivors include his daughter, with whom he resided, Melody (David) Perry of Conneaut, Ohio; two sons, Larry Killingsworth and Rodney Killingsworth, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and his brother Richard Killingsworth of Virginia. He was a beloved grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He will also be missed by his dog, "Buffy."
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Debbie Triplett; and his brothers Orville and Clayton Killingsworth.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Mill Creek Memorial Union Mission Church, Route 219/250 in Mill Creek with the Rev. Randy Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the Mill Creek Memorial Union Mission Church.
