Olin G. Malcomb, 93, of the Frenchton Road, French Creek, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, in Pines Assisted Living Care in Marietta, Ohio.
He was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Braxton County, a son of the late Alva Warrick and Icy Lenora Heavener Malcomb.
On Oct. 22, 1945, he was united in marriage to Letha A. Lynch Malcomb, who preceded him in death Sept. 30, 2011.
He is survived by two sons, Delmas Malcomb and wife, Dianne, of Lancaster, Pa., and Kevin Malcomb and wife, Peggy, of Marietta, Ohio; two daughters, Teresa and husband, Robert Bohack, of St. Peters, Mo., and Kim and husband, David Pearcy, of Charleston; seven grandchildren, Leigh and Karen Bohack, Nathan and Jacob Malcomb and Lauren, Leslie and Megan Pearcy; one brother, Noel Malcomb and wife, Maxine, of French Creek; two sisters, Velva Austin of French Creek and Mary Ann and husband, Mitchell Griffin, of French Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Zola Karickhoff.
Mr. Malcomb was a member of Frenchton United Methodist Church and a former member of Madison Baptist Church in Madison. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps having served during World War II.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The body will lie in state at Frenchton United Methodist Church Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Kara Philippi officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Cave Cemetery.
