Premium polymer clay hand-made beads are still the rage this Christmas season and Third Street Trading Company offers a wide selection of colors, styles and sizes. Third Street Trading Company employee Amy Lockhart shows the variety of Jilzara bracelets, necklaces and rings many would love to receive under the tree or in a stocking this Christmas.

"Polymer bracelets are still really big," Anderson said. "We also have the seasonal holiday collection by Jilzara. We offer a little girl collection and they are a big hit."

Anderson said magenta is the color of the season.

"We have lots of scarves, hats, gloves, purses and, of course, jewelry," Anderson said. "With jewelry, the bigger the better is what is hot this year. And we have a huge selection of Pandora bracelets and beads."

Kmart softlines manager Joe Skidmore said the store is ready for fashion-loving shoppers.

"We have lots of jewelry, including necklaces, bracelets and bridal sets," Skidmore said. "We can order custom sizes in our jewelry as well. We also have a great selection of CZ diamonds in rings, earrings and necklaces. Yellow gold still is the most requested."

Skidmore said Kmart has a huge selection of clothing to choose from.

"This winter season, everyone is looking for winter boots, and we have plenty in stock," Skidmore said. "The most requested are the knee-length boots in leather, and we have boots for everyone in the family.

"We have lots of colors as well as versatile ski jackets," he said. "We also offer a nice selection of gloves and boxed sets that include gloves, hats and scarves. Also, we have boys, girls and infant fleece designs in bright colors."

Many youngsters have adopted an Elf on the Shelf. For those who haven't already gotten one, they are available locally at Hopscotch and Main Line Books, both in downtown Elkins.

Big Lots in Elkins has stocked up with pajamas, socks, thermal ware, watches and jewelry. Manager David Perry said the store has great merchandise at great prices.

"We are selling lots of tablets and GPS's for the season," Perry said. "Everyone is looking for Keurig (coffee makers) and portable DVD players. We still have lots of outdoor Christmas decorations and keyboards for tablets."

Marla Wheeler, owner of Marlea's of Elkins, said there are many hot fashion trends this season.

"Color is a big thing this year no matter what the item," Wheeler said. "Orchid, turquoise, mustard and red are the colors everyone is wearing."

Wheeler said other trends include skinny jeans, leather jackets, faux fur jackets, long sweaters and tops, fingerless gloves, wool caps and eternity scarves.

"Every woman likes jewelry, and the style this year is big and chunky," she said.

said. "Lot of folks are buying jewelry made of mixed metals and wood. Jewelry is a great gift because it is the finishing touch for an ensemble."
