Dearl Richard Bohon, 79, a resident of Hambleton, departed this life Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born Monday, Oct. 22, 1934, at St. George, a son of the late Toney Calvin Bohon and Janet Louise Miller Bohon Rhoades. He had been previously married to Virginia Barkley Willy of Pennsylvania.
Surviving are one son, Richard Calvin Bohon of Pennslyvania; two brothers, Robert G. Bohon of Elkins and Oved W. Bohon of Parsons; three sisters, Delain Mullenax of Elkins, Della Akins and Delores Nine and husband, Nick, all of Hambleton; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He attended the one room school No. 6 at Location and the Saint George School. He worked in the steel mill at Loraine, Ohio, and was an employee for the former Bohon Service Station. He worked the dye house at the Woolen Mill, was a former employee of the Kingsford Charcoal Co. and the former Wratchford Exxon and Royal Crown Cola in Parsons. He retired in 1996 from the city of Parsons with 21 years of service. He was affiliated with the Parsons Church of God. He liked hunting, fishing and taking pictures. He was a kind, gentle man who will be truly missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. David Snyder will officiate and interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery at Location Community, St. George.
