Stephen Craig Swick, 54, a resident of Beverly, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 16, 1959, at Philippi, a son of the late Edwin R. Swick and Liberty B. Swick White.
On Sept. 8, 1990, he was married to the former Mary Anita Ott, who survives.
Also surviving are two half brothers, Conrad and Edwin Swick; one sister, Edwinia Swick Van Sant; and one brother-in-law, Thomas Rexrode of Elkins. Stephen is also survived by his "kids," Vandy, Cotton, Pecan and Cooper.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Buck J. White; his half brother, Robert West; and two half sisters, Daryl Hanson and Barbara Rexrode.
Stephen was a 1977 graduate of Elkins High School and attended West Virginia University. He was a sports reporter with The Inter-Mountain at the time of his death and an avid WVU sports fan.
At Stephen's request, his remains were cremated. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. At 2 p.m., Friday, a memorial service will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Krysta Rexrode Wolfe officiating.
