SHENANDOAH, Va. - Evan Arrington and Logan Cooper each scored 18 points as Pendleton County held on to claim a 53-51 win over Page County, Va., on Wednesday night.
The Wildcats led by 11 points at the intermission before the Panthers rallied to tie the game at 48 in the final quarter.
But Pendleton County hit some crucial free throws down the stretch to earn the win.
"They used a full-court, zone press to get back into the game," Wildcats coach Ryan Lambert said. "We made some turnovers and they were able to make a run.
"We executed a lot better on offense late in the fourth quarter with our ball movement, and our free-throw shooting allowed us to hang on for the win."
Tim Brown tallied 11 points and Stone Painter 10 for Page County (4-5).
Pendleton County (5-3) will visit Pocahontas County at 7:30 p.m. Friday for a PVC?contest.
