Man transported after Barbour County wreck

PHILIPPI - A one-vehicle accident in Barbour County resulted in a man being flown to Morgantown for medical treatment Wednesday.

The accident occurred at 6:19 p.m. on Wednesday on Route 38, as a truck rolled over the embankment.

The driver was found in a field, a representative of the Barbour County Emergency Communications Center said.

The patient's condition and identity were not available as of press time. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The Philippi Fire Department, Barbour County Sheriff's Department and Barbour County EMS responded to the scene. The Belington Fire Department set up a landing zone for the life flight helicopter,

officials said.
