Weather permitting for the volunteer to come to the Tucker County Senior Centers, officials will host a paper products bingo at the Mt. Top Center on Thursday. The prizes will be paper products that everyone can use around the home.
A similar event is scheduled the following day, Friday, at the Parsons Center. Both bingos will be held immediately following lunch.
The Mountain Top Outpost of the Tucker County Senior Citizens will host their January meeting and a covered dish lunch on Jan. 21. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the lunch. Plan to join in and take time to enjoy the food and fellowship on a winter day.
Officials are always encouraging participation in physical exercise of some sort to improve our health, both physically and mentally. Staff make regular runs to the Wellness Center, and the Mountain Top Center has acquired some exercise equipment for our participants to use.
With this in mind, Slayter Liller, a freshman at Tucker County High School, will be presenting a short program at the Parsons Senior Center on Thursday, immediately following lunch, on the benefits of exercise and activity, as part of a class project.
Also on hand will be a representative of the Wellness Center and some participants of the center who have taken advantage of some of the opportunities available for physical fitness. Officials hope that you will take a few minutes to participate in the discussion and perhaps even contribute in some way.
The Tucker County Senior Centers will be closed on Jan. 20, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. The centers will be open on the regular schedule on Jan. 21.
