Ferguson to teach art workshop

The Philippi Public Library will host local artist Sarah Ferguson as part of the library's "Meet Your Local Artist" series.

The workshop will be offered from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the library.

Ferguson was born and raised in West Virginia. She currently lives in Philippi with her husband and son. She has an art education degree from West Liberty State College and has taken several graduate art classes from WVU.

She has taught in the Barbour County School system and is currently teaching with the Randolph County ArtsBank Program in Randolph County Schools, and teaching at the Randolph County Community Arts Center. She also gives private art lessons in Philippi.

Ferguson also will offer a free art workshop at the Philippi Public

Library.

The workshop will consist of creating a step-by-step portrait. All ages and levels of artistic ability are welcome. "Come out and enjoy the fun," Ferguson said.
