HAMBLETON - Stephanie Betler and Elizabeth Nichols scored 14 points each to power Tucker County over Pendleton County, 58-30, Tuesday night in Potomac Valley Conference action.
"We played a little better tonight," Mountain Lions coach Jim Ambrose said. "I like playing at home. It really helps a lot. We were a lot more patient tonight and got into the flow. That really made the difference."
Betler added five steals, five rebounds and five assists to her stat line. Aiyana Kachmarek added 10 points and Savannah Ambrose contributed seven rebounds and seven blocked shots.

Tucker County (6-3) will return to action at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Notre Dame. The Wildcats (5-6) will host Pocahontas County at 7:30 p.m. on the same evening.
East Fairmont 63, B-U 33
FAIRMONT - The East Fairmont Bees stung Buckhannon-Upshur, 63-33, in Big 10 Conference action on Tuesday night.
Senior Mikayla Moore paced the Bees with 15 points. Junior Brooklynn Weaver and sophomore Felicity VanGilder contributed 11 points each.
"Again, we had a lot of turnovers," Bucs coach Tristen Gray said. "Anytime a team applies pressure, we struggle. Every turnover is a lost opportunity to score. Each time they took the ball away, they went to the other end and scored."
Junior Courtney Reed led B-U with 12 points. Junior Megan Wilfong scored seven points and freshman Makayla Reynolds added six points.
The Bucs (1-6) will host Webster County at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
High school boys' basketball
Strasburg, Va., 49, Moorefield 32
MOOREFIELD - Matt Clutter scored 13 points to lead Strasburg, Va., to a 49-32 non-conference win over Moorefield on Tuesday night. The win improved the Rams record to 8-5 and dropped the Yellow Jackets to 3-5 on the season.
"We just couldn't get anything going," Moorefield coach Patrick McGregor said. "Strasburg is a very disciplined team. They play man-to-man (defense) and did a nice job defending."
Aaron Cole, Dakota Vetter, Tyler Smith and Austin Williams all scored seven points each for the Yellow Jackets.
For the Rams, Tyler Daman added 12 points.
Moorefield will return to action at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Allegheny, Md.
Middle School boys' basketball
Petersburg boys defeat Green Bank
GREEN BANK - Jarret Taylor lit up the Petersburg defense for 21 points Tuesday, but it wasn't enough to secure a victory for Green Bank as the Vikings claimed a 46-35 victory.
Jacob Halterman paced Petersburg with 18 points and Chase Ault added 11 points.
In junior varsity action, Petersburg cruised to a 46-7 win. Tyce Wisnewski led the Vikings with 10 points and Brandon Hannas scored nine points.
Dalton Hendrick led the Eagles with three points.
Middle school girls' basketball
Elkins sweeps Green Bank
The Elkins Middle school girls swept Green Bank on Monday.
The EMS varsity team took a 55-15 win as Mackenzie Guy scored 14, Taylor Maynard 11, Kaci Zopp 10 and Taylor Phillips eight.
The junior varsity team captured a 41-15 decision behind a 26-point effort from Susan Riggleman. Haley Smith added seven.
