Elkins swimmers defeat Bees

ELKINS - The Elkins High School swim teams picked up victories against East Fairmont Thursday night at George A. Myles Pool on the campus of Davis &?Elkins College.

The EHS girls captured a 102-26 decision, while the boys claimed a 64-22 verdict.

Samantha Hall won the 200-yard IM (2:24.57) and 100 breaststroke (1:20.18), while Skout Barger claimed the 500 freestyle (6:59.23) and 100 freestyle (1:01.77) to lead Elkins.

Other first-place finishers for the Tigers included the 200 medley relay team (Abby Fincham, Amy Fincham, Lauren Cain and Tayler Lee), Lee (200 freestyle), Cain (50 freestyle), the 200 freestyle relay (Barger, Cain, Skylee Watson and Hall) and the 400 freestyle relay (Barger, Watson, Lee and Hall).

Tyler Kenney (200 freestyle, 100 backstroke) and Brendan Cain (50 and 100 freestyle) each won two events for the EHS boys.

Other first-place finishers were the 200 medley relay team (Brendan Cain, Brendan Wallace, Tyler Kenney and Remington Knight), Wallace (100 backstroke) and the 400 freestyle relay (Cain, Benjamin Daft, Wallace and Kenney).

Elkins will host Philip Barbour and Doddridge County at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
