Roy Junior McDannels, 90, a resident of Bloomingdale, Ohio, passed away peacefully in Valley Hospice at Steubenville, Ohio, Dec. 25, 2013.
He was born Sunday, Jan. 7, 1923, at Beverly, a son of the late James and Violia Gibson McDannels.

Also surviving are one son, Thomas Paul McDannels of New Philadelphia, Ohio; two daughters, Shirley Miser and Margaret Cline and husband, David, all of Bloomingdale, Ohio; five grandchildren, Brian, Jeff, Leslie, Lee, Roy and Lisa; 13 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby McDannels Coberly of Beverly; one brother, Robert L. McDannels of Kenningston, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Gertrude V. McDannels of Richmond, Va.; three nieces, Mary Ellen Teter Anderson, Dianna Faye Coberly Sanders and Ruth Ann McDannels Eller; and one nephew, Gary Lynn Coberly.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Ray and James McDannels; one half brother, William Tucker Gibson; two sisters, Ruth McDannels Teter Bolton and Iva Jane McDannels; one half sister, Edna Elizabeth McDannels Mullenax; one daughter-in-law, Sue McDannels; and one son-in-law, Nevin L. Miser Sr.
Roy attended the Park School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Weirton Steel as a pipe fitter.
