Residents of Crestview Nursing Home in Jane Lew were treated to a concert by Dsvis & Elkins College Artist-in-Residence Jack Gibbons as a thank-you from students who completed their clinical rotations at the facility. From left are, standing, first-year nursing students, Megan Hall of Webster Springs, Katelyn Isner of Belington, Mary Gibbons of Elkins, Janice Miracle of Greenwood, Chandler Fitzwater of Fairmont, Victor Agbai from Aba, Nigeria, Rebecca Canterbury from Logan and Nursing Instructor Lora Cruz. Seated with Gibbons is student Amber LaBille of Indian Head, Md. The student group is one of four that worked in three-hour blocks during the fall semester. Gibbons’ concert included some of the most well-known songs of Gershwin, a shortened version of “Rhapsody in Blue,” a few pieces by Chopin and Scott Joplin, and his original composition ‘Musical Box.’
