Wilson E. Robinson, of Anderson, S.C., died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in Rainey Hospice House.
Born Jan. 10, 1931, in Philippi, he was the son of the late Wilson E. Robinson Sr. and Mary Kennedy Robinson.
Mr. Robinson graduated from Elkins High School in 1949. He attended Davis & Elkins College, West Virginia University and University of Cincinnati. Mr. Robinson served in the Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. He was an engineer for Avco in Cincinnati, Ohio; Federal Electric at Paramus, N.J.; and Sperry Gyroscope at Great Neck, N.Y. He worked for the Naval Ships Missile Systems Engineering Station of Port Hueneme, Calif. until his retirement in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Sanford Robinson of Anderson, S.C.; daughters, Elizabeth Robinson of Exton, Pa., and Edith Mochnaly and her husband, Joel, of Phoenixville, Pa.; granddaughter, Kerri Mochnaly of Phoenixville, Pa.; and his former wife, Barbara Lundy of Exton, Pa. He is also survived by brothers, John Robinson of Erlanger, Ky., Warren Robinson and wife, Kathy, of South Point, Ohio, and Nathan Robinson and wife, Kitty, of Frederick, Md.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Robinson of Atlanta, Ga.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.
