Old rivals D&E, AB set to clash this evening

PHILIPPI - Davis & Elkins will look to cool off Alderson Broaddus when the old rivals collide at 7:30 p.m. today in G-MAC play.

The Senators enter the contest 9-8 overall and 2-4 in league games, while the Battlers (12-4, 6-0 G-MAC) have won 10 straight.

Senior forward Devin Miller tops D&E?in scoring with 18.8 points per game, followed by freshman guards Juwan Strothers (11.5) and Wesley Sprinkle (9.4).

Adam Kline has established himself as one of the top players in the G-MAC for the Battlers. The senior center from Winfield tops the conference in rebounding and double-doubles with 11. He is averaging 14.5 points and 11.3 caroms.

Sophomore guard Malcolm Tatum tops AB in scoring with 15.4 points. Sophomore forward Thylas Perkins is also averaging in double figures with 11.8 ppg.

A women's game between the schools will take place at 5:30 p.m.

D&E, which has won three straight, is led by senior forward Jorden Lykes (11.9), freshman guard Stephanie Wooten (11.3), junior forward Sharmaine Baker (10.4) and junior guard/forward Ashley Bowles (10.3).

The Battlers (2-12, 2-4) will counter with sophomore guard Sydney Shaffer (9.8 points per game), senior guard Natalie Smith (8.5) and freshman forward Korie Maryo (8.2).
