Chamber chooses Members of the Month

Dr. Mark Farnsworth, left, and Brandon Jones are the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Members of the Month in January. Farnsworth is the Family Physician at Barbour County Family Medicine. Jones is the exclusive agent for the Horace Mann Educators Corp. in Philippi, doing business as the Central Highlands Insurance Agency.

Farnsworth was born in Norristown and grew up in Reading, Pa. He graduated from Exeter High School in Reading and Houghton College in Houghton, N.Y. He earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed his residency in family medicine at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.

Farnsworth directed the emergency room at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital from 1989-1992 before joining Barbour County Family Medicine, which provides outpatient medical care from the newborn to senior citizens. He was a hospitaler and emergency room physician at Broaddus Hospital for the past three years before rejoining Barbour County Family Medicine this month. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Christian Medical and Dental Association

Farnsworth said, "My real calling is as a family physician, and I am glad to be back at Barbour County Family Medicine providing outpatient family medical care as I did here for over 18 years." Jones is a Philippi native and alumnus of Philip Barbour High School. He graduated from Fairmont State University with a degree in business management and began his business career as a salesman for Urse Automotive in Morgantown. He became the exclusive agent for Horace Mann Insurance Co. last October, doing business as the Central Highlands Insurance Agency. Jones was awarded his property and casualty license, and life and health license from the West Virginia State Insurance Commission.

Jones said, "I am very excited to work with our educators and to give back to the people who made me what I am today. Showing our appreciation to our educators is very important to me and to my company, and we look forward to helping them with all their insurance and financial needs." Jones may be reached at P.O.
